Salento, is known as “The heel of Italy”, is coincident with the southern most part of Puglia, between the Ionian Sea to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east, which is why it is also called the land between two seas , from a historical point of view the Salento has been for many centuries the ancient region called Terra d’Otranto.
